First meeting: 12 March, 7pm in RM 4418
If you are planning on conducting field research in Israel or the Palestinian territories this summer, please join the SOAS Israel Society on 12 March in RM 4418 (main building) at 7:00 pm in a discussion about the Israeli Field Research Network.
This network is a new initiative targeting the needs of young researchers, students, activists and others visiting the region.
Through this network, we will help you find accommodation, link you to resources pertaining to your research project and connect you to information about language acquisition, internships, fellowships and volunteering opportunities. Additionally, in order to help you enjoy your off-time, our network will hope facilitate social ties between you and other international researchers and people who live in the region.
Ultimately, we seek a permanent organizational home, either as an independent NGO or as a centre at SOAS. Feedback from your experiences this summer will help us tailor this project to help provide for future researchers.
Monday’s meeting will be a chance for us to get acquainted, discuss research projects, travel plans and for us to provide you with information about this new initiative.
We hope to see you there!
